My breasts are small, pointy and not full am I normal? (Photos)

Hello. I am 18 years old and I have no mother to ask about my breasts. I saw her pictures though and she had small breasts but my sister has rather large ones. My breasts are very small and I don't like it not only are they small but they are not full and they are very droopy and pointy. I honestly do not even know what kind of breasts I have. Will they ever grow? Or become fuller? Or will I stay like this? I am so sorry for so many questions in one.

HI Miss,  It is a little unusual to have droopy breasts at age 18, but I have had several young patients who are like this, so you are not abnormal. You may have a bit of a tuberous component, but this can certainly be helped if you see a board certified plastic Surgeon who is experienced in treating these type of breasts. An important thing to remember is that you are not really deformed at all, so you have plenty of time to visit with surgeons and make a calm decision about the direction you want to take. Thank you for your question and "normal"  it's so hard to define and especially at 18 years old!! And while it may be true that  you have a little bit of droop,  breasts of all ages come in all shapes and sizes.  What is most important is how you feel about it.  There are a lot of important things to think about at 18 years old and it is very normal for  many women to address their breast shape years down the road  when many of these other issues have kind of settled out!  Yet for other women  it can be a constant concern.  So I would think about how much weight you give to this and, if you feel  like you should address it now, seek out a well-qualified board-certified plastic surgeon to help you!!!! From the photos you provided, it is really hard to tell if you have tuberous breasts as the other surgeon suggested.  But you do have a moderate degree of droop and could benefit from additional volume. Best to consult with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon experienced in Cosmetic Breast Surgery and one who has years of experience.  Tuberous breast surgery can be far more challenging than a straightforward breast augmentation and requires skill, expertise, and experience with this type of case.I hope that helps and wish you the very best!-Gregory A Buford MD FACSBoard Certified Plastic Surgeon and Author

than small (you appear to be at least a B cup) and pointy from your photos.  What you have is 'normal' by most standards and its unfortunate that you have some droopiness at such a young age. As Dr Rodgers has said, there are surgical fixes to this if you're accepting of the risks, scarring, and costs as this would be a cosmetic issue and not a medically deficient issue.  If breast feeding is a priority in your life, its suggested that you don't do anything until you are done having your children...  and have had the opportunity to fully breast feed without being impacted by surgery.

I can't quite tell from your pictures. But it is looking like you are quite normal.  In any event, if there are things you don't like about your breasts, there are many options for correction including fat grafting and implants, even lifts if necessary.  An in person consult would help, but I don't think you have anything you need to be worrying about!

Your photographs show sagging of your breasts (breast ptosis) which causes the breast to stretch down, carrying the nipple and areola with it.  This makes the upper areas of the breast appear empty.  You would benefit from a lift operation and possibly an implant to provide more fullness if you wish to have a larger breast size.  It is best to visit with a board certified plastic surgeon so that you can have a consultation and have the right recommendations for you to achieve your goals.
