Had a rhinoplasty/septioplasty 3yrs ago. I had my hump removed and can breathe better, however after fully healing I'm unhappy with the results from the front. My nose is crooked from the view underneath and the symmetry of the nose nostrils/sides are off as seen in the pictures. What was done wrong and how can this be fixed?
Answer: Revision Rhinoplasty Hi @Northwest22. Thank you for sharing your photos. I recommend seeing an expert revision rhinoplasty specialist for an in person examination. There are options for you that can be determined after examination. Best of luck, Dr. Nima

Answer: Are you a candidate for revision rhinoplasty? What you need to know Thank you for providing images along with your question. Uneven nostrils after rhinoplasty can be caused by a lot of factors, ranging from asymmetrical healing, postoperative scarring, or nasal tip deformity. Whichever the cause, revision rhinoplasty can be performed to correct problems with worsened asymmetry and uneven nostrils that may have resulted from a previous rhinoplasty procedure. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with a reputable board-certified facial plastic surgeon, particularly one with a strong rhinoplasty portfolio. Keep in mind that revision rhinoplasty is one of the most complex plastic surgery procedures. Your surgeon will evaluate your nose, determine the cause of the asymmetry, and determine your eligibility for revision rhinoplasty. No matter what your concerns might be, your surgeon will design a personalized surgical plan to address the issues, enhance the appearance and the function of the nose as needed, and provide the best possible outcome.

Answer: Rhinoplasty healing Thank you for your question. There are a variety of reasons this could have occurred. The most likely is that when the nose heals after surgery, it undergoes a shrink wrap effect. If the underlying cartilage is not strong enough to withstand contractile forces, warping can occur. The best way to fix this is by straightening the nose, and then reinforcing it with cartilage grafts to keep it in place. I hope this information is helpful to you, and I wish you all the best.

Answer: What can be done to fix asymmetry from a rhinoplasty 3yrs ago? Based on the attached photographs your expressed issues clearly lie within your septal deviation. You have a septal tilt deformity---your septum moves from back(posterior) left to front(anterior) right. Therefore all structures(including nostrils) on the left side of your nose are wider than on the right. The septum is too tall and must be trimmed in height allowing it to return to the midline. Once there all nasal structure can be reconstructed on a straight midline septum. Your mandible and chin(projection forward as well as vertical height) can be permanently augmented during the same surgery with your own transplanted fat derived stem cells Let me know if you have any additional questions
