Will fat transfers to under eye hollows get bigger if I gain weight?

If you gain fat the fat you have had transferred can also be enlarged.  But it is unlikely that you will notice that sigificant a difference unless you gain a lot of weight.  Best, Dr. Emer. 

It is possible that the injected fat will increase with size as there is weight gain but the good news is that it should be proportional to fat increase elsewhere on the face.

That is a great question. Keep in
mind that scientific studies for cosmetic procedures are fewer and far between
than say scientific studies about national health problems such as high blood
pressure or diabetes. With that being said, we often must rely on expert opinion
and surgeon experience.



I have been doing fat
transfer for about a decade now and have never seen a disproportionate weight gain in transferred fat. Keep in mind that over 90% of my patients that "need" cosmetic fat transfer to the face do so because they are physically active, lean, and have more gaunt faces. So, put another way, its much less common for heavier women to even need fat transfer. I hope that makes sense. Overall, I think fat transfer to the lower eye/ cheek / orbital rim area is a relatively quick and low down time procedure that looks cosmetically very pretty the majority of the time. I would not worry too much about disproportionate weight gain in general.
