Just wanted to start documenting my journey now that I have my surgery scheduled. I’ll attach before photos and the computer generated expected results. So far my experience with Mobley’s office has been satisfactory. Can’t wait for my face to match the rest of me. Updated on 4 Jun 2022: I’m now 4 days post op. The first two days were the most difficult. Ice and massage was key to my pain management those first couple days. The first 48 hours was strictly soft foods(mashed potatoes, cream of wheat and protein shakes). I was pretty bed ridden. The head wrap was super tight especially the second night when I began to swell. It made me claustrophobic. I took my pain meds those two days to help me relax and sleep. After 48 hours of the head wrap I had my follow up and it was removed and replaced with a less constricting compression band. They also removed my drain tube and assessed my healing. Everything looks great so far! Day 3 I was able to eat a little more foods like scrambled eggs and vegetable soup. I decided to stop my pain meds in order to prevent constipation. I was up more this day and able to do simple house chores. Still swollen and uncomfortable but definitely manageable. Today is day 4. I had toast for breakfast! Swelling is moving around and I’m feeling better everyday. Started taking bromelian and arnica vitamins to help with bruising and swelling. Have to clean my wound 2x a day with hydrogen peroxide and bacitracin. Just taking it easy and binging some junk tv. Updated on 5 Jun 2022: I went to Dr. Mobley one year ago for my consult. I had researched the best doctors for chin implants in my area. Dr. Mobley held some impressive credentials and had amazing reviews everywhere I looked. I initially went to my consult in hopes of inquiring about a chin implant. My chin is a little small and recessed and I was hoping to achieve a more balanced look. Upon examination Dr. Mobley presented me with his 3D neck procedure, which includes a mini neck lift, chin implant and lipo at the jawline. I thought this was a great plan and scheduled my surgery. Unfortunately due to life circumstances I had to reschedule my surgery pushing me almost a year out from consult. I am not 4 days post op. So far so good! Updated on 7 Jun 2022: I’m one week post op and swelling has been going down significantly. Getting my stitches out today. Smile is still crooked and numb lower lip and chin. Still wearing band and icing often as it helps the swelling subside and just feels nice in general. Taking Tylenol once in a while and my vitamins but that’s about it. So far it’s looking real nice. Updated on 14 Jun 2022: I’m officially two weeks post op today. The last of the swelling is in my jowls, chin and neck but I’m seeing healing everyday. The muscles in the neck are tight and I’m doing the stretching that my nurse instructed. Having the procedure has also inspired me to drop some unhealthy habits I’ve picked up over the past six months. I’m cleaning up my diet and working out again. I am very happy with my results so far. When I see my profile I think, “oh that’s me” rather than “who is that?”, which is how I felt prior to surgery. When I started strength training a couple years ago I was very fit and gaining a nice amount of muscle but I still had a double chin. Now that I have my neck lift and my chin looks strong I feel it fits my look so much better. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do to naturally tighten aging muscle or grow a chin. I can work hours at the gym and it won’t do anything for my neck and chin. I just feel like this is how I looked in my head and now it’s real. Here are pics from today. Next post I’ll do myself up a little lol
Thank you Dr. Mobley!!! Thank you for coming to my rescue! I recently had a Mohs procedure, in the office of a Mohs doctor, on the side of my nose to remove a basil cell. I was stitched up and bandages were applied. When the bandage was removed the next day I was shocked and saddened by the change in my nose. I had a moment of panic and was able to get in with Dr. Mobley for a consultation, then corrective nose surgery. I am happy to have him help me through this! I recommend anyone having Mohs surgery to coordinate it with Dr. Mobley's office ahead of time. Thank you Dr. Mobley!
I have waited about two months after my surgery performed by Dr. Mobley to write this review to determine how the final results of my procedure would be after healing. The results are outstanding and far exceeded my expectations. I had a basal cell carcinoma surgically removed from my scalp by another local surgeon. As this review is for Dr. Mobely and his staff it would be inappropriate to discuss the details of that surgery here, it can be found elsewhere on the web. I will just say that it was not done to my expectations and I would have been left with what would have been a very large permanent disfiguring scar over two inches in diameter had it not been for the outstanding skill and expertise of Dr. Mobely. A scalp flap reconstructive surgery was required to close this area, and this is a fairly major surgery involving surgically detaching a large area of the scalp, moving it to close the wound and re-attaching it. I saw two other surgeons prior to finding Dr. Mobely and neither seemed confident that in their ability to perform this surgery with a good outcome, nor was I confident in their ability to perform this surgery well. I had the good fortune to be referred to Dr. Mobely, and he took the time to explain the procedure thoroughly and what the expected outcome would be. I was confident in his skill and abilities from the outset and he did not disappoint me. Through a combination of the flap surgery and a relatively small skin graft he reduced the area to what is now a less than a half inch bare area from what would have been a very large bald spot that would not have been covered by existing hair. It has healed completely and smoothly with no visible scarring, and in time the growth of existing hair on my scalp will cover it completely. Dr. Mobely's staff and assistants were kind, courteous and attentive to my needs throughout, and I am very pleased with the outcome, and grateful to Dr. Mobely for his thoughtfulness, courtesy and professionalism, and of course great skill and expertise in performing the procedure. Go to him with confidence for any facial and related surgeries, he is absolutely the best! I highly recommend him. Jim Lamm Salt Lake City
I went to Dr. Mobley a few weeks ago for an otoplasty and had a fantastic experience. He texted me using his personal number for about a week after the procedure to make sure that everything was going ok, which I really appreciated. The results are amazing! It has given me so much confidence and I no longer have to wear hats! It's amazing how an issue I have had for my entire live can be fixed in a few days.
The Otoplasty procedure Dr. Mobley did for me three years ago has changed my life in such a positive way! Before the surgery, I was teased often about my protruding ears, which gave me a lot of social anxiety. My overall confidence was low because I was so self conscious about my ear appearance. Because this lack of confidence was affecting my social and overall well-being, my mom (who was single and very low-income) started researching the Ear Pinning procedure. We were both so excited when she found the Mobley Charitable Foundation website, yet we were both a little shy to apply for such a generous charity. Thankfully, Britta made us both feel so at ease through the entire application process. Then, for the initial consultation, both Britta and Dr. Mobley made us feel so welcome, and so grateful that I was accepted as a recipient of the Foundation. So much care was given in all aspects of the procedure: preparation, surgery, and post-surgery. Dr. Mobley is excellent. The results were amazing! It took no time after the surgery for my confidence to start building. What a breath of fresh air! I finally felt comfortable among my peers. I communicated better and believed in my abilities. Now I am a very self assured, motivated individual. I just graduated from high school. I credit much of my great high school experience to the confidence that came after the surgery. I worked hard in high school and had fun too! I recently was accepted with scholarships to a great college, and am looking forward to giving back to the community in the future, as the Mobley Charitable Foundation gave to me!
After years suffering of bad breathing due to a nose surgery done in Brazil many years ago, I decided to seek for the best Plastic Surgeon with great experience in Rhinoplasty. I could not be happier with the results of my nose surgery. But despite of feeling and sleeping much better, the hollow of my lower eyelids used to give me a tired face every single day. Then I had fat transfer surgery done and, again, I am so happy with the beautiful and natural results. Nose and eyelids are the center of a face and Dr Mobley has the expertise and the professionalism that I was seeking.
Dr Mobley was the doctor I chose after careful consideration for chin augmentation. I had considered this procedure for a few years prior to having it done. I did a lot of research into potential surgeons, and after meeting him felt confident . I felt from photos of my profile that my chin was underdeveloped and somewhat out of proportion to my features. The procedure was in office and relatively easy. The first couple of weeks after the procedure I was concerned that the chin was too big. I contacted dr Mobley directly, and he was reassuring. After a couple of months the swelling subsided, and I am delighted with the results. My best advice is to give your body time to heal before coming to any conclusions. I would recommend this procedure and think the results are definitely worthwhile.
I had the best experience with Dr. Mobley! I love my new nose!! Before going to Dr. Mobley I had the worst nose job that just devastated me, about 2 months after my bad surgery I was told I needed to go see Dr. Mobley. I went to him to see what my options were to fix it and I couldn't have been more impressed with him or his staff. Everyone was so friendly and helpful! I had my wedding coming up, and since it was too soon to do surgery after my last one, he helped me make it look more symmetrical with temporary fillers so I felt good for my wedding day! After my first surgery was all healed up I went back to Dr. Mobley for my revision nose job, and he didn't just make my nose look normal again he gave me my dream nose. He really listened to every detail I wanted and made sure I had that result. I couldn't be happier with my new nose! It has given me so much confidence! If you could see what he had to work with you would be amazed with the outcome, he truly is an artist and very worth going to!!!
I am thrilled with the results of my surgery and am very happy that I chose Dr. Mobley as my surgeon. I am also very grateful for the wonderful care that I received from Dr. Mobley and his very professional staff. I live 1500 miles from Salt Lake City and was happy to travel to be one of Dr. Mobley’s patients. In summary, I would recommend Dr. Mobley to anyone considering facial surgery.
I had rhinoplasty done last year. My nose had to many flaws in my eyes. It was long, drooped at the tip, and it had a bump/hook on my bridge. I also had an indent in the lower left part of my nose and it was crooked. I went with Dr Mobley not knowing if he could make my nose decent. I know i couldnt, i had tried editing it before in the computer. Dr. Mobley ended doing a perfect job. Fixing everything i have stated above. Changing my life by giving me more confidence and overall making me feel better about myself. A year later and i owe less than $900. I would recommend him to anyone thinking about getting a rhynoplasty.
I see a good number of patients from out of town. I like to see every patient back the day after surgery. However, of my out of town patients...many will fly back home after this "day after" post op visit/ check. I encourage throrough use of Afrin and oral Sudafed for some patients (not good with high blood pressure for example). At any rate, exercise should be nothing more than a light walk around the block from Post op day 1-7. After day 14 I have no exercise restrictions for my patients except to avoid any direct contact (boxing, contact sports, etc) until 2 months post op.I tend to have a good number of fit and athletic patients who are eager to get back to their routines. I simply tell them to enjoy their exercise but do understand that if they get all "hot and sweaty" (dripping sweat in the hair, red cheeks, etc) that they are going to prolonged the swelling in their nose. But...in the end....it all evens out and physical exercise is great for our bodies and our psyche.
On the surface this seems like such a basic question. However, with over 14 years of experience in this field; it's never a simple question to answer. I think of the recovery in phases. On the simple side, there is usually a cast on your nose and a few stitches on the columella for 7 days after the operation. If bone work was done, then you might see some "Shiners" until approx 10 days after the operation. However...the healing- most often marked by nasal swelling will go on for up to 12 months. I think of this in 4 month increments. The first 4 months I encourage patients to sort of "tune out" and not to overly focus on their nose. Between 2 nights after surgery and 4 months post op a good deal of the "normal" swelling is simply leaving the nasal tissue. At 4 months post op I believe that the patient and I can "BEGIN" (repeat begin) to see the final results of the rhinoplasty. Beginning to see the final results is not saying that one sees the final results.By 8 months I believe the nose is greater than 50% recovered...probably closer to 75%. By 12 months- the nose is fully healed.Of course all of this is influenced by the initial skin thickness of the nose. If the patient naturally has thicker nasal skin, all of these time points will be prolonged. If the patient has thinner skin, obviously the opposite is true. Around 4 months we can use exact injections of diluted Kenalog to help with "stubborn" swelling.
Lets be honest here. Rhinoplasty surgeons dedicate their professional lives to do an operation that takes years of acquired experience and skill to execute precisely. As with any professional- Lawyers, CPAs, Engineers, etc...as the skill and experience grow so do the associated professional fees. No matter how well trained one is, it's only logical to conclude that a surgeon with 10-15 years of surgical practice experience is very likely to do a better nose job than someone with similar training but not as many years of experience. I have been trained by some of the most well known nasal surgeons in the USA. Some of these surgeons charge over 10K for a "basic" nose job (if there is even a such thing). My philosophy is that the market will always provide a surgeon at a given cost. If you shop by cost alone, you are liking considering less experienced surgeons. Do your homework, research every surgeon thoroughly. Look at their training, pedigree, their local reputation. Rhinoplasty is an operation best done right the FIRST time. Costs will vary greatly by state, but if your surgeon is not charging in the top 15% in your market....there may likely be a reason for that.
I would say you are a typical good-great candidate in my practice. You are young and do have less full cheeks. Assuming you have reasonable donor site fat (rear end, hips) then you are exactly the type of patient that tends to do well with fat transfer.Keep in mind that the "dark" circles, can be 2 different phenomena. One, its shadow from light that casts over the tear trough hollow. 2- could be some facial/nasal allergies. In general, I see a 30% or more improvement when I do fat transfer to treat these dark circles.
I do a good number of fat transfers and actually the lower eye / orbital rim (upside down C area) is one of my favorite areas for fat transfer. I have had similar (albeit smaller) lumps over the years and have found them to almost always respond to very diluted injections of triamcinolone. Low concentrations of the steroid are important and waiting about 6-8 weeks between injections has worked well for me in these related situations. Best of luck to you.
