would it be possible to get the filler "sculptra" to fill my dorsal hump? i know this filler is said to last up to 2 years or more. any other thoughts on using a filler rather than a nose job?
Answer: Sculptra for dorsal hump? I would not recommend using Sculptra to improve the appearance of a dorsal hump. There are other fillers that may be used to improve the appearance of the nose. If you are looking to have this treatment, I would recommend choosing a physician who is comfortable performing these injections, as there are many complications that may arise including the following:1) Asymmetry2) Necrosis (the tissue dies)3) Infection4) IrregularitiesRhinoplasty surgery yields the best overall result, which is permanent and generally more effective. I hope this helps, and best of luck to you.

Answer: Dorsal Hump augmentation A rhinoplasty will definitively correct a dorsal hump. Concerning Sculptra, I do not recommend injecting it into the nose. There are some other fillers that can be used for minor or subtle corrections of the nose depending on the area desiring correction, although caution should be used. Larger corrections, which would likely be required in this instance, may not be appropriate for filler at all.

Answer: Fillers to Correct Dorsal Hump Basically, nose surgery will be able to give you a more permanent result and more adjustments with the shape of your nose, but you are not yet ready for it, filler injection is a good option. While it is true that filler injection on the nose is quite risky due to the possibility of arterial embolization or occlusion by the filler can occur and cause skin necrosis and possible blindness, a surgeon with expert knowledge and enough experience in this practice can minimize this risk. For your case however, though the filler can augment your apex (root of the nose), and thus contour the hump, it will not be able to increase the projection of the tip without increasing its dimension (making it seem bulbous).

Answer: Do not use fillers in this area of your face! Hello and thank you for asking such an important question. I do not recommend getting fillers into this area of your nose or glabella as there have been reported cases of blindness with fillers here. There is an anatomic connection in the arterial blood flow to the area of the nasal bridge and the optical arterial system. As such fillers can be injected that can then occlude blood flow to the eye. I would recommend being seen by a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon that can evaluate your nose and face and make appropriate recommendations for aesthetic improvements. Best of luck.
