Can undiluted Dysport be injected in face?

Question

I went to a location to have Botox and the technician said she was out of that, but had UNDILUTED Dysport and that the ratio would be 1 to 1. Another words, I had prepaid for 20 units of Botox and she said she would inject 20 units of UNDILUTED Dysport and it would have the same effect. I didn't go through with it, and am wondering if what she told me was accurate. I can find nothing online about injecting undiluted Dysport. Thank you.

Botox, Dysport and Xeomin all require dilution prior to injection. It was wise of you to not go through with the injections. What you were told makes completely no sense it makes me question the skill and ethics of the injector. Best of luck.

Hi,
I believe the semantics are slightly off, as both Botox and Dysport come as powder in small vials, and must be reconstituted with preservative-containing or preservative-free saline to activate the neurotoxin and be in an injectable form. Next, Botox and Dysport are variations of the same toxin (botulinum toxin type A), but generally, there is a 2.5:1 or 3:1 Dysport : Botox ratio in terms of unit values. As such, I am unsure what that practitioner suggested, perhaps she meant that she would reconstitute with less saline for a possibly more potent neurotoxin concentration? I would further investigate.

Good job researching this topic! Botox and Dysport come as a powder and must be reconstituted, or diluted, in saline in order to be used. Depending on how it is diluted, 1 unit of Botox equals 3 units of Dysport. Be careful-I am not sure what "UNDILUTED Dypsort" is!  Best regards, Dr. Aldo :-)

I have no idea what they are trying to tell you by "undiluted dysport." Be careful. 
Botox and dysport come as a powder and must be dissolved in saline in order to be used. Also the units are inherently different and this is not changed by the dilution. It's roughly a 3:1 ratio dysport to botox.

What she told you makes absolutely no sense. Dysport comes in powder form and cannot be injected unless it is diluted. The same thing applies to both Botox and Xeomin. Depending on how it is diluted, 1 unit of Botox equals 3 units of Dysport. You made a smart move by not going through with it!

Please go somewhere else for your botox or dysport.  They are not equal when discussing units.  Both come in a powder form and have to be diluted.  I have no idea why this technician would say that.

Hi kujee,It's unclear to me what the technician meant. All neuromodulators (whether Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, etc.) have to be mixed with liquid in order to inject them. In their "original" form, they are powders. Also, Botox and Dysport units cannot be considered a 1:1 ratio. I think further discussion is needed to understand what the technician intended before you make a decision. Hope that helps.

Dysport could not be injected undiluted.  Sterile saline needs to be placed into the vial in order for it to be used.  In addition, 20 units of Botox is not equivalent to 20 units of Dsyport.  I would check back with the office you went to in order to get clarification about what was said to you.

Both Dysport® and BOTOX® come
in powder form and must be diluted before use, so I’m unsure what your provider
meant by undiluted Dysport®. If it was a board-certified cosmetic surgeon’s
office, I would contact the injector and ask for clarification but, otherwise,
I would find a reputable cosmetic surgeon and work with them instead. It is
frustrating when you have already paid for the Dysport® injections, but you
don’t want to take any unnecessary risks with your health and safety.
