Why does it feel a bit painful when I bend forward after Botox?

I had Botox yesterday and it hurt when I leaned or bent forward. This morning I have been down to stretch and it hurt my Fore head. Just wondering why, the physiological reason, that this hurts ?

Thank you for your question. I think the most likely cause is a tiny bit of edema from the trauma of the needle sticks coupled with increased pressure when bending down. This should resolve in the next 2-3 days.I hope this was helpful - Dr. Moore.

Botox comes as a tiny amount of dry powder in a sterile vial. It has to be mixed with sterile saline (salt water) in order to be injected with a tiny needle into the skin.  It is most likely the minor trauma from the needle and the small volume that cause the sensitivity.  It should be mild and resolve quickly. If not, call you doctor and let them know.

It is not uncommon to have some mild tenderness at the site of Botox injections.  The pain is most likely from the needle poke not from the Botox itself.  It is also possible that you have a small bruise from the injection.  A bruise can stay tender for several days. Typically any discomfort from the injections will resolve in a few days.
