Hi, my eyes looks sunken/hollow (maybe too much fats taken out?) and my crease on my right eye seem to be very odd. Is fat graft / fillers to the upper eyelid the solution? And which of the 2 is recommended? Or is a revision eyelid surgery needed?

Answer: Blepharoplasty outcome Honestly I think perhaps a little too much skin was removed. Your crease was set a little on the high side for your ethnic background.A question if you should’ve had a blepharoplasty in the first place. If so it should’ve been done very conservatively.I don’t know if fat or volume is really the issue at all.I would be very apprehensive about working with Fat grafting in this area and recommend at least starting with fillers.Sometimes cutting bait and leaving good enough alone is a good option as well. The enemy of good is perfect. The closer someone is to perfect the less change they need.Best, Mats Hagstrom MD

Answer: Post Blepharoplasty Fat Defect This is the reason that experts in eyelid surgery rarely remove fat from the eye any more, as the defect is frequently worse than what was treated initially. The treatment is fat grafting, which must be done by an expert, as the anatomy is tricky and demanding. The results are never as good as the original, which are smooth collections of fat instead of small amounts of fat separated by vascularized tissue, but can make a significant difference. The results also improve with time as the fat grows.
