It’s been 14 months since I had my lipo procedure. The skin is lumpy, irregular and terrible looking. I’ve regular velashape 3 which helps but still goes back to the Terrible look. I’ve done research to understand it’s scarred and seeking for remedy, there’s no point doing a lipo revision but apparently fat grafting can improve the look of the skin. I’ll do n pay anything to improve the look of my stomach and eventually achieve the tight look. Hope that someone can help Happy to travel anywhere!
Answer: Contour irregularities after lipo Over resection is often a difficult situation to correct.I would consider a minimally invasive release of thescar tissue and fat grafting but you may still not besatisfied with the amount of correction. Take your time and have a few evaluations with plastic surgeonsthat specialize in body contouring. Best wishes.

Answer: Would fat grafting fix a lumpy or skin scarring post-liposuction? Hello, thank you for your question. You may need further small cannula liposuction and internal scar release, I recommend you to schedule a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon.

Answer: Revision needed Thank you for your question.Based on your photos, I think you need to have some adhesions released from the previous liposuction. In conjunction with that fat grafting could be an option. You need to get a second opinion in person, to determine your best option.

Answer: Irregular contours after lipo Hello! I would recommend you undergo release of the skin with Liposuction tools, but no liposuction. The release would help redrape your skin and equilibrate the distribution of fat under your skin. If there are areas that are particularly thinned, then yes, fat transfer would be helpful. You should wait at least one year since your last procedure to assure your tissues have reached maximal benefit. I would recommend that you see an experienced board certified plastic surgeon. You can find one at plasticsurgery.org.Best of luck to you!

Answer: Correcting poorly done liposuction correcting poorly done liposuction is difficult and often not possible. This is especially true for those who have been over treated. The treatment options are generally revision liposuction, fat transfer or converting the procedure to a skin procedure like a full tummy tuck.It looks to me like you’re not a particularly good candidate for any one of these. Those who have been over treated don’t do well with revision liposuction since it’s adding insult to injury or pouring gasoline on the fire.Fat transfer tends to leave undesirable outcomes because the over treated areas that need the fat transfer don’t have sufficient host to tissue to support the grafted fat. Instead adjacent areas that have more fat will allow more graft and fat to survive continuing the contour irregularities. For those who have enough skin laxity to convert the procedure to a skin operation skin surgery may be appropriate but this does not appear to be the case for you and in your case the upper abdomen is disfigured. There are no nonsurgical options that will treat the primary underlying problem which is too much fat was removed and it was done so irregularly.I’m wondering if this was done using VASER with the attempt at creating “high definition”?.Usually some improvements can be had with fat transfer and revision liposuction but it’s a tedious procedure and usually multiple rounds of fat transfer are required. Typically what happens as patients see such small increments of improvement that it doesn’t justify having surgery over and over.I would be extremely cautious of anyone claiming to magically “break up the scar tissue” with power devices such as VASER.Further surgery will always lead to more scar tissue.I’m sorry that you find yourself in the situation and I wish I could be more optimistic.I found patients who have been disfigured from liposuction to need extreme honesty. You may want to look for plastic surgeons who either have practices that include lots of liposuction and fat transfer or plastic surgeons who do a lot of reconstructive surgery especially breast cancer surgery. Definitely someone who has a few notches under their belt. You need very accurate assessments because each individual area of disfigurement needs to be assessed individually. This will require in person consultations. Be careful of blanket statements and promises of “this can be fixed, it’s easy to fix or I have the technology to fix it”.i’m sorry you had to go through this.Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
