Question

Hi, is it true Juvederm attracts more water and would cause more swelling? Which of the 2 fillers is better for upper eyelid? Why do people complain of lumps/swelling/unnatural effects/pain and ultimately wanting to get them dissolved?Are these the risks that comes w fillers?

Hello, thanks for sharing your question with us. The upper eyelid is one of the thinnest areas of the body. Hyaluronic acid fillers will always attract water by the chemical characteristics of hyaluronic acid which can attract 1000 times its weight in water. For upper eyelid area you must use a low G hyaluronic acid, known as thin HA filler. Teosyal RHA range is an award winning filler which can be resilient and adapts to the movement of the body. Volbella is the low G HA from allergan wich can also achieve great results in the eyelids. Teosyal RHA2 is the only filler in the world designed with minerals that helps with the darkness around eyes. There are many fillers on the market from which to choose when having treatment.  Certain fillers are better designed for a particular area (ie. Voluma is great for the cheeks but not indicated typically for the lips).  It is important that you visit with an experienced injector who can help you select the appropriate filler and amount to help you achieve the results you want.  Swelling, bruising lumps and bumps can sometimes be seen after treatment, but often resolve after two weeks.  The benefit of HA fillers is that they can be dissolved if the outcome is not desirable.

Hi there,All fillers have their place.  If you go to a Board Certified Injector they will know which product to use where.  In this particular area I like the Restylane products as the do not attract as much water as others.  As always see an expert. Best of luck....

The problem with questions about various hyaluronic acid products now is that many have very similar names or are frequently called by the generic product line name. This is confusing because you frequently don't know which exact product someone is talking about. Teosyal comes in RHA-1,2, %3 in the US, each having different indications and longevity. Juvederm also is a family of products, Juvederm Ultra, Ultra Plus, Volbella, Vollure, and Voluma. Of the Juvederm products, Ultra and Ultra Plus are Hyalacross technology and tend to absorb water. They can give you more oomph for the ml injected than other fillers. Volbella, Vollure, and Voluma are Vycross technology and absorb almost no water, about the minimum of any filler. I am a big fan of them because of that and the fact that they are also some of the longest lasting fillers on the market. Volbella and Vollure work very nicely in the upper eyelid, though I prefer fat. The trick is to choose an expert Plastic Surgeon with significant experience in blepharoplasty and non surgical eyelid rejuvenation, discuss your desires and let him/her pick the filler if that is what you select.

anytime you have procedures done in the millions you see complications for any numbers of reasons. So you see people complaining on websites like this. 
Because many injectors dont know how to say no to patients because money is involved,  people get blown up faces and lips. Lumps and bumps tend to be technical...
I only use HA fillers, they can be dissolved.  Fillers like sculptra and radiesse cant be reversed.
I prefer restylane for brows/upper lids,  you get excellent projection and 2 years of duration
