I was given a faja and waist binder by my surgeon and I was told that when my swelling goes down, I don't need a stage 2 faja as the waist binder will do the job. Is that accurate or will I need a stage 2 faja to better contour my body?
Answer: Postoperative protocol Dear pingpongsnatchme, I understand your concern. It is best that you consult your plastic surgeon regarding post operative care and management (i.e including massage techniques and timing) specific to your case. Your surgeon knows your condition well and has preferences on when and what to use for faster healing and recovery. Post operative care and management depends on the type of surgery performed and the technique used during surgery among other factors. It is best, however, that you follow your plastic surgeon's advice on post operative care management for a smooth and faster healing and recovery. Answer: BBL Hi, thank you for sharing your question. Follow the recommendations of your surgeon as they have the ideal postop plan for you. I typically use a stage 2 garment once the primary garment gets loose around 6 weeks postop.

Answer: Do you need a Stage 2 faja? Hello @pingpongsnatchme, thank you for your question. Is best to take the advice and recommendations of the specialist that performed the surgery. The compression garment depends of multiple things among other the doctor's surgical technique and the type of equipment used to perform the surgery. According to the clinical criteria is the level of compression of the girdle and the period of use. Best wishes! Alan Gonzalez MD, FACS.

Answer: Compression garments Compression garments have no impact in the final outcome or surgical results of liposuction and fat transfer procedures. There is no evidence that any of these change to final outcome. I encourage patient to wear compression garments for two weeks and then they’re done. Some patients like wearing compression garments and I see no harm in doing that. Different doctors have different opinions on the topic. I suggest you follow your doctors recommendations. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD

Answer: Will the use of a stage 2 compression garment improve the operative result? Hi and welcome to our forum! There is no general consensus on the duration of use or even the use of compression garments! Each plastic surgeon develops a unique individual postoperative protocol based upon training and years of clinical experience. Some plastic surgeons recommend compression for a period of 4 weeks, some for 6 weeks, some for 3 months, and some not at all. Compression is used to prevent bleeding and to control swelling. It does not appear to re-shape the body.Best wishes...
