What makes an aesthetically pleasing side profile? is a female, an aesthetically pleasing side profile begins with an indentation below the forehead where the nose begins called the radix. If this indentation is not deep enough it creates a strong Greek or Roman statue appearance which is more appropriate to a male.The profile should then continue below the radix in a straight line fashion down to the area above the tip called the Supratip. It should not have a dorsal hump or be excessively scooped, or project to far forward from the face. Below the supratip the tip may continue in a straight line or project slightly more forward than the supratip. The angle that the tip of the nose makes with the upper lip should be approximately 105° in a female. The length of the nose measured from the radix to the tip should be in proportion to the projection of the tip measured from the lip out to the tip. Hello there! The profile "ideals" will vary from person-to-person and surgeon-to-surgeon. For males, a straighter profile free of a hump with limited supratip break and a rotation of 90 degrees is "desirable" by many. For females, the bridge may be straight or with a slight curvature with a supratip break which is modest and runs into a tip with a rotation of 95-105 degrees. The projection can vary but should balance with the lips and strength of the chin. The amount of nostril show should be 2-4 mm. Hope this helps!
