I had a breast lift 6 months ago and I’m not happy with the results. My areolas are uneven and my left nipple is inverted. I’ve also developed stretch marks. Will this improve over time? Or will I likely need a corrective surgery?
Answer: Breasts The excess skin of your areolae can be easily treated in the office as a minor procedure under local anesthesia. Please discuss your concerns with your surgeon now.

Answer: Breast Lift Results Hello, my name is Dr. Burko and I am a Plastic Surgeon at SY Aesthetics in New York City. I think your result will likely not change too much since you are 6 months after surgery. Revision surgery is not absolutely necessary unless there is something specific you would like revised. My recommendation is to see a trained plastic surgeon who can give you their best options.

Answer: Mastopexy results In order to make a quality assessment on the outcome of a plastic surgery procedure we need to see quality before and after pictures. If you don’t have before and after pictures done ask your surgeon to forward the pictures later. Breast pictures need to be taken in a standard format I need to be consistent. The pictures should be taken with the arms in the down position from about 8 feet away either by someone else or using the timer on your camera. The areola looks different in the different pictures. Are these all taken at the same time frame? When you say that your areola’s are uneven, do you need to give us more specific descriptions regarding what’s uneven. Are they uneven in relationship to each other? Uneven in size or uneven and that you have a more inverted nipple on one side? At six months, your results are fairly close to final. There may be some further stretching of the skin with more bottoming out overtime but the nipple areola complex is probably not going to change significantly at this point. It’s not uncommon to need minor revisions after mastopexy surgery. There are often some skin changes that take place due to gravity pulling on the skin and incisions. Often minor revisions could be done in the office using local anesthesia. I suggest you follow up with your surgeon and discuss your concerns with him or her. Best, Mats Hagstrom, MD
