I am looking to improve nasolabial folds look. I don't have wrinkles there but I am no happy with those sagging . Should I choose fillers or surgery? I m 35
Answer: Fillers If you are looking to define your face, at your age fillers and PDO threads are a better option than surgery. Surgery causes scar tissue and as you continue to age, this scar tissue can create challenges if you were to get another surgery later on. There is a lot that can be done to sculpt and enhance your look with kybella, fillers, threads, and lasers. You have a beautiful facial symmetry, so not much would need to be done to bring a little more balance and enhance your look. Accentuating your cheekbones with filler will help soften the nasal-labial area.

Answer: How to rejuvenate the face without surgery: Know your options Hello, and thank you for providing a photo along with your question. Based on your photo, you don’t appear to have advanced signs of aging or severe skin laxity. You don’t seem to need a facelift, and you may already achieve the results you desire from non-surgical skin rejuvenating procedures (although a proper skin evaluation is a must). For instance, you may try injectables. Dermal fillers can lessen the appearance of nasolabial folds by plumping the upper cheek or the area just below your smile lines. If your folds are caused by a tight muscle, you may benefit from Botox injections. Sometimes, a combination of neuromodulators and dermal fillers will achieve the best results. You may also consider a PDO thread lift which uses absorbable stitches strategically placed underneath the skin to lift and enhance the balance and proportions of the face. To determine the best procedure(s) for you, I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with a reputable board-certified facial plastic surgeon. Your surgeon can properly assess your skin folds, determine the ideal treatment or combination of treatments for you, and ensure the best possible results.

Answer: Fillers better for younger individuals You are too young to go for a facelift and you don't have any excess skin or fat. Fillers would be the appropriate choice for you to improve your nasolabial folds. Regards Dr. J

Answer: Lift or fill? Hello Anni, Thanks for your question and sharing your photo. First of all, let me just say you look great for 35 and you can barely see those nasolabial folds in the photograph...maybe it's just the lighting. If you came to my office, I would strongly recommend against surgery at this time (even though I love surgery). You are too young and too fit to take on the recovery, risk and expense of surgery at this time. Fillers are a great option for fine tuning, which is truly all you need. The nasolabial folds are one of the best areas to treat with filler and offer a high level of satisfaction for most patients. But I always tell my patients this...those folds should never be completely erased, otherwise things start to look weird. The goal is to soften that area. Look at any baby, even they have nasolabial folds! Hope this helps! All the best, Dr. Dominick GadaletaFacial Plastic SurgeonPalo Alto, CA
