Hi, I had labiaplasty and my labia minora was taken off. It's completely reduced and it was not planned. I am very alone with the topic and I feel I don't get enough information what can be done anymore. All fluids are coming out through vagina and seems like ”open hole” when I sit. What can be done anymore or can anything be done? Can you build by surgery the cover for vagina, as labia minora is functioning?
Answer: LABIA MINORA RECONSTRUCTION Hello, I'm sorry to hear about your experience following your labiaplasty. In cases where the labia minora has been significantly reduced beyond what was intended, revision surgery can be an option. Labia minora reconstruction is a procedure where we can attempt to recreate the labia minora with flab method to some extent, using tissue from surrounding areas. Additionally, if there is an issue with fluid discharge, a mini- perineoplasty might be necessary to correct the flow and enhance comfort. Fat injections can also be considered to enhance the appearance and functionality of the outer labia, making them more prominent and providing additional coverage. These procedures aim not only to improve aesthetics but also to restore functionality and comfort. I recommend consulting with a specialist who has experience in reconstructive genital surgery to explore these options further and find a solution tailored to your needs. You're not alone, and there are steps we can take to help improve your situation. Dr. Mehmet Bekir SEN

Answer: Labia minora reconstruction options start with a photo assessment Your options for fixing a total amputation of the labia minora depend upon the quality and the appearance of the area. Post a photo to get a meaningful expert opinion. If you're reluctant to share publicly, consider scheduling a virtual consultation.

Answer: Absent labia minora As the inventor and innovator of the wedge technique in 1994, I reconstruct many women who have had labia reductions by other surgeons, both wedge and trimming techniques. The reconstruction technique depends on the deformity. The reconstruction is more difficult than a primary labiaplasty and should be done by a plastic surgeon with extensive experience in labia reconstruction. I published the first and most extensive paper on labia reconstruction in the prestigious journal "Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery" about ten years ago. If you have no labia but have an adequate clitoral hood, then I can use the skin of the hood to reconstruct your labia minora. I invented these clitoral hood flaps, and published the technique in that journal article. In this surgery, I take the remaining tissue of your clitoral hood and transfer it downward to create labia minora. I have done this surgery about 100 times with excellent results. The surgery takes about 3+ hours so it is not a simple office procedure. If any surgeon reduces more of your clitoral hood, you will be ineligible for this repair. You only get one good chance to reconstruct you, so be patient and ask a lot of questions. I suggest you include photos for me to evaluate. Gary J. Alter, M.D. Beverly Hills, CA - Manhattan, NYC -

Answer: What to do about labial amputation after labiaplasty procedure. Can I have a revision? Hello Rhea 88. Unfortunately, there are no photos accompanying your question, so I can only answer "...in general." Yes, something can be done-- exactly what in my opinion would have to be answered after viewing a complete in-focus photoset. This would include a mini-perineoplasty; an "Island Flap," or a "Bader-Elias Procedure" (formation of "neo-labia.") Please re-ask your question with a photoset. Or, contact Dr. Alexandros Bader, Harley Street, in London, who is the best revision surgeon near to you. Best, Michael P Goodman, MD, FACOG, IF, AAACS. Sacramento, CA, USA
