If you're having a labiaplasty, wait until it's healed before doing a chemical peel. Otherwise, you will jeopardize the quality of the healing from your surgery.
You may want to get the peel after labiaplasty, once you’ve fully recovered from the surgery. This could be a few months, depending on how your recovery goes.
It would be best to undergo a chemical peel during or after the time of your 3-4 week follow-up visit.
Hi there! I highly suggest wait until healing is done to help lighten the area. Not only will it help with potential scarring, but there's no true purpose doing it before. As your provider, (bleaching cream or chemical peel) when you are fully cleared to do so. It's not worth risking infection for.
Hello and thank you for your question. I would recommend to wait 2-3 months following Labiaplasty procedure to allow for wound healing to take place, prior to undergoing a chemical peel. The goal of Labiaplasty procedure is to reduce the length and the width of your labia minora, which can also make wearing tight clothes more comfortable.During clitoral hood reduction, excess folds of the clitoral hood can be removed to create a more balanced appearance of female genitalia. However, not everyone is a candidate for this procedure.I suggest that you seek an in person consultation with a Board-Certified plastic surgeon specializing in Labiaplasty to further discuss your options, specific techniques, concerns and expectations.I hope this helps.Best regards, Dr. KaranetzDr. Irena KaranetzFellowship-TrainedBoard Certified Plastic Surgeon
Hi there I would recommend to have the chemical peel after the labiaplasty is performed. There is a 8-12 weeks healing period. The peel will help to improve the labiaplasty scar if it is visible. Some of the dark areas are removed during the operation so less chemical solution will be needed. Best of luck and swift recovery!
That’s really your preference, but I’d recommend getting after you have healed from labiaplasty. You might not even want or “need” the chemical peel once you see your results from labiaplasty. Most of my patients love the taught results and do not pursue chemical peels afterwards. Plus, even though labiaplasty scars heal and fade very quickly, if you decided to do a chemical peel, it would accelerate the scar fading process. Feel free to make a consultation appointment here at Smith Plastic Surgery and we can go over the many options my surgery center and med spa offer to tighten things up.
Hello, chemical peeling is done by protecting the labia minora. So before or after doesn't matter. It can even be done during the labiaplasty procedure.
I don't reccomend a chemical peel in your labial area, as it would be diffucult recovery. You can use pico laser to reduce the pigmentation in the area, prior or after labiaplsty.
Do it after the labiaplasty. If you do it before you must wait until the skin is back to normal before doing the surgery.
They can be done together and don’t add any significant recovery time. If done separately, wait about 3-4 weeks after labiaplasty for the laser vaginal rejuvenation.
Each surgery is designed for each patient’s individual desires and needs, including other techniques.
You should meet with the doctors you want to have your surgery done and see the photos of their previous labiaplasty surgeries.
