I have a very recessed cheek and under eye area after upoer jaw advancement. I am concerned that cheek implants would look to obvious on me and may protrude too much, however, im not sure if a fat transfer can add the amount of volume i need in that area. What would be the best option?
Answer: Implant vs fat transfer Cheek implants can be very subtle. I know many celebrities and influencers go over the top with their implants, but the reality is they can be however large or small you want. The cool thing about them is they can be customized to your face. Essentially, if we put the implants in and think they project too much, we can shave them down to be smaller and better fit your facial features. It appears that you have strong cheek bones, but lost some volume under the eyes. A fat transfer could add volume back to that space. You could potentially do both. It depends on what outcome you are looking for.Our office offers in-person or virtual consults if you would like to discuss things further!

Answer: Need to come in to consult For unique cases where a variety of modalities could be used to treat the condition, I would suggest an in-person or virtual consultation to develop a custom and effective treatment plan. It is difficult to precisely define the best option without collecting the same information. I suggest reaching out to an expert for a consultation with surgical and non-surgical methods to get a comprehensive option. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: HA Volumizing Fillers Work Well For Nonsurgical Cheek Augmentation I am actually surprised here about even considering expensive and invasive and minimally invasive procedures for cheek augmentation, such as cheek implants or fat transfer, respectively. The use of a volumizing HA filler, such as Voluma XC, would seem the simplest, nonsurgical, non-invasive solution that would allow for easily adjusting the amount of volume as needed, and which would allow for dissolving should the need arise. You would be wise to consult with an experienced, board certified cosmetic dermatologist. Best of luck.
