26 overweight, will marionette lines caused by chubby cheeks go away if I lose weight? (Photos)

Question

Hello, I am 26 years old female and I am overweight. I am in the process of losing weight to be healthier and stronger. I have chubby cheeks and its causing my face to look like it has marionette lines but they aren't full wrinkles or anything and I have no other signs of aging. I never had this problem before when I was at a healthy weight 3 years ago. Will they go away if I lose weight? I dont want fillers.

Hello, hope you are well. It's never a bad idea to allow your weight to stabilize prior to considering treatment options. You are young and can be expected to have good skin elasticity. So, when you lose weight, and the facial fat pads shrink in size, the skin should conform back to that shape. In other words, if you didn't see the problem just a few years ago at a healthy weight, you probably won't see it if you return to that weight again today. Fillers don't make a lot of sense in this context--you would be adding even more material and volume to a face you have already decided appears 'chubby'. Instead, if your skin continues to appear lax after weight loss, consider a minimally invasive skin tightening procedure like Morpheus8 (radiofrequency microneedling).

You may also consider RF microneedling treatments to boost your body’s collagen production, restore your skin’s elasticity, and minimize the appearance of fine lines. I recommend fillers to soften the nasolabial folds themselves and also lift around the mouth and cheeks to build underlying anatomical support.
