Hi, In natural rested position, my bottom lip protrudes outwards and the inner lip can be seen. Why does this happen and how can it be improved?

This should be doable with an in office treatment. Either a bit of fat or tissue can be added, or some skin can be excised, or both. Also we could consider a "v to y" advancement. Again, all are office procedures under local anesthesia

The technique I recommend is an eccentric lip lift. This will excise excess skin laterally and less skin centrally, will increase the mucosa of the upper lip, increase the incisor show and pull up the corners. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.
