I have had a chronic issue of having very dry and peeling lips since I was a kid. I am 26 now and I honestly don’t remember a time in my life where my lips weren’t chapped and peeling. I have also been obsessively biting and picking the skin off my lips for all these years. Nothing I have tried has ever helped this condition. On top of my lips being chronically very chapped, they also just have a very weird appearance. My vermillion border is very jagged and not well-defined and my lips are just very asymmetrical and weird-shaped. I have noticed more recently that I have even more loss of pigmentation and scarring around the vermillion border of my lips. I have the weirdest shaped lips I have ever seen on anyone. Is there anything that can be done to improve the appearance of my lips? I’m just at a loss I don’t know why I look like this and it causes me a lot of distress.

The technique I recommend is an eccentric lip lift. This will excise excess skin laterally and less skin centrally, will increase the mucosa of the upper lip, increase the incisor show and pull up the corners.

You could undergo excision of the wider lip. This could be done under local anesthesia and the scar would be concealed in the mucosa.

You are an excellent candidate for a lip lift. A lip lift does 4 things: shortens the distance between the nose and upper lip, increases the mucosa of the upper lip, increases the incisor show and pulls up the corners.
