I recently had surgery on my lips - I wanted to have my corners lifted as they were downturned, making me look sad and angry, it bothered me a lot. I approached my plastic surgeon who already performed a brow lift on me, I trusted him. However, on the day of the operation, we did not have any consultation, only when I was lying in the operating room he said that he will perform a new technique - so -called sashimi developed by a famous Dr. Nabil Fakih - he enlarged my upper lip, which is nice but that was not what I wanted, for some reason he turned the lip corners down again and that is exactly the opposite of what I wanted! I am now two weeks after the surgery, I still have scars - actually one visible one - a bog cutting line only on the right side and the red part (red lip) is a bit blurry, kind of messy, there is no demarcation zone.. What bothers me extremely are the corners, they are even more downturned looking than before, I look much worse than before, OMG.. I am totally devastated, I need to fix this situation asap, I cannot be exposed like this. My question to experts here on RS is how much time should one wait until the reoperation can be performed? What would be the most suitable technique to lift the corners up, so I could achieve similar results like on the pics? Will the scars fade away?I read the scars on the lip heal very well, since there is a big blood circulation, is it true? Thank you for your advice!!
I'm a 25 year old female and my goal is to balance out the overall shape of my lips especially so that there is an increase in the red portion of the corners of the upper lip. (I thought about a corner lip lift but I'm afraid of the scaring.) Also I'd like to increase the volume. I've been thinking about getting a v-y plasty, but I'm not sure about how natural the results would look and if it would help my goal. Altetnatively I thought about a fat transfer? Thanks :)
I've noticed that my upper lip is slightly towards right especially in photos could it be due to lip symmetry or my jaw or alignment of teeth? A dentist said my lower teeth shape is towards right due to chowing on that side during development but alignment is good. So Whome I should I consult? Should I consult orthodontis, cosmetic dentist, or a plastic surgeon to explore my options?
Hi! I am deciding between having dermal fat grafting (where an actual strip of skin is removed and pulled through the lips) or a temporalis fascia lip graft done, and I have a question. Would a fascia graft be more resistant to absorption than a dermal fat graft? I know with fat injections, you have to worry about them dissapearing with weight loss, being absorbed by the body, etc. So is that the same case with a dermal fat graft, since there is a small amount of fat attached? Thank you!
I can't show too much teeth when I smile, and I want to know what procedure I should do. My teeth are straight, I have a good bone structure, and the distance between the nose and upper lip are normal. There is any procedure that I can do inside the mouth to give more movement for my lip?
I had a small cut in my inner bottom lower lip, it took a while to heal. I would bite my lower lip before the cut fully healed and it left a small bump on my lip. Its more visible when i smile, i just want the bump gone for good. What can i do? Is plastic surgery necessary?
Ive always been insecure about how my lower lip hangs out when I rest my face. I also think I look weird when I talk. Ive looked up this issue, and the only solution I see for it is some sort of lip reduction. However, I think Im fine with the size of my lips. Ive been told that my lips are the perfect size and shape. Its just that one small thing that makes me really self-conscious. I also have an overbite, but I don't know if that effects it at all.
