Hi all, I am an asian female in my mid-20s. A month ago, I received glabella botox in hopes to treat my chronic frowning. However, my brows have turned really arched and “spock-like”. My middle forehead is heavy, I can’t lift it and when I raise my brows they look even more ridiculous. I was not expecting such an effect as I thought my procedure would only treat my frowning muscles. Is there anything I can do to mitigate this?

Answer: Botox asymmetry... When the outer eyebrow is going up too high after Botox, you should be able to go in for a touchup to inject into some of the muscle that is lifting that outer eyebrow up. Then it should settle down nicely.

Answer: " Spock" brow contours are easily remedied for most patients Asymmetrical or too severe arching of the lateral brow can occur even with expert injectors. Fortunately the tendency towards this occurring is predictable and if it occurs it is easy to remedy. Our patients are encouraged to allow the results from treatment to evolve for two weeks and then to let us know when small issues like you are experiencing occur. Rather than going online you should call your physician provider and see if they can help you. If not, then you should consider a more experienced and credentialed provider. Best regards, Dr. Mosher
