Go see a dermatologist right away. The sooner the better since the earlier the intervention the better the chances of preventing permanent hyperpigmentation and scarring. If this is new, your dermatologist will provide you with local wound care for a burn to the skin as well as a local steroid cream and possibly an oral steroid depending on your needs. If this is older, you dermatologist will most likely prescribe retinA and hydroquinone 4% to help with the post inflammatory hyperpigmentation (aka PIH). Hope this helps. Good luck!
Local wound care and a cortisone ointment can help with your chemical peel burn. Once the skin has healed, I would recommend Elevase Moisture Booster to strengthen the skin with ceramides and Melarase creams for the skin lightening effect. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Los Angeles
I suggest you see a board certified dermatologist who can manage your burn and do treatment to prevent post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Best, Dr. Emer.
You may heal on your own. However, you could also hyper pigment. The dermatologist will be able to assess what you need now and adjust treatment as you heal.
