Hi there, the question you ask allows me to comment on how peels work. Peels, the different types, work by removing different layers of skin. The most superfical peels really only remove dead skin and clean pores. With these (Salicylic, Glycolic, Jessners) there is no bleeding and really no downtime. THey are great options for smoothing your skin and keeping it looking fresh. However, they will NOT treat wrinkles. You can then get into medium depth peels that can in fact cause some bleeding. These get into the epidermis (outer layer of skin) and outer layer of dermis. These peels can help with some minor wrinkles. The deep ones, you get bleeding and have a much higher risk of complications., They also remove wrinkles but can change the skin color dramatically. My advice, look into other options as well. Hello and thank you for your question. Typically speaking, no peel should leave you with welts, crusting or oozing. That was the old school of thought. Nowadays, chemical peels have come a long way by being non-traumatic. The inclusion of liposomes in chemical peels makes the chemical penetrate the skin immediately; not allowing it to stay on the superficial epidermis. Some chemical peels are combined with antioxidants, amino acids and anti-inflammatory ingredients so that while you are causing trauma to the skin, there are added ingredients to counter the effects of inflammation, which in turn, provides for non- welting, crusting or oozing skin. The best chemical peel ingredient I have come across for age related skin conditions is Retinaldehyde. It is the precursor to retin A, but without the harsh side effects. It is a dermal remodeler and in high strengths can resurface the skin without causing any inflammation or irritation. The best way to remodel the dermis is the use a product or peel with retinaldehyde. You can change your skin without compromising it's integrity. I hope this information helps a bit. Best Wishes

Our treatments use combination therapy to improve the epidermis and dermis. We see atrophic and hypertrophic scars, as well as scars that have hypo and hyperpigmentation. Our main concern is rebuilding collagen and that is why we use a HIDEF protocol that includes combination therapy. Morpheus...
Once you have a chemical peel, you really want to protect the new cells that are forming. Also, you have removed a thin layer of old cells that help filter out some of the UV rays from the sun. Protecting your skin from the sun is the most important thing you can do to prevent aging,...
Chemical peels treat wrinkles and do not cause wrinkles. Initially, especially if TCA was used, the area can appear wrinkled. It can take a few weeks after the peel for this side effect to dissipate. I also recommend using Epiceram after the peel to help the skim return to normal more qu...
