Can I spot treat with a 30% lactic acid chemical peel?

Hello.  Thank you for your question.  I would first like to know WHY you think you want a chemical peel and why only to the area between you eyebrows? Chemical Peeling is either appropriate or inappropriate.   Photos would be nice.  Glycolic and lactic acid are non-traumatic chemicals which are very similar in that they are off by only 1 carbon chain in their molecular structure.  Both are very mild and safe for even home use but in my opinion Lactic acid is a better choice as it is also hydrating.  I would stay away from salicylic acid, TCA or anything stronger as you may experience hypo-pigmentation (loss of color to the area) and well as hyper-pigmentation (excess color to the area).   Again, you need to ask yourself WHY you think you need a chemical peel.  Please choose wisely.  Best Wishes.

Peels can work great on a full face or in a localized spot but it all depends on what you are treating.  Best, Dr. Emer.

With a darker complexion, you run the risk of uneven pigmentation following an acid peel.  Lactic acid is a relatively mild peel, especially if you only leave it on for 2 to 3 minutes, so I doubt it will cause a problem.  Be certain to use sunscreens for several days after you treat.
