Scar revision? Do you think that's my hip sticking out, excess skin, or fat? (Photos)

I would recommend performing liposuction with a possible scar revision to help make it more symmetric. This is quite common in body contouring surgery.

It is an excellent result. Simple excision of what is kniw as a dog ear can be done using local anesthesia.

You appear to have a dog ear and the revision should correct this. The scar might be able to be lowered some as well. Please discuss this with your surgeon.

From the photos it appears the area around the hip that concerns you is what is referred to as a "dog ear". These sometimes occur after a tummy tuck and are relatively simple to revise. It is likely a combination of fat and skin. Often times these can be addressed under local anesthesia in a surgical suite.

It is not possible to give you an answer from a photo. It may be a combinationof skin fat and you hip bone. Follow your surgeons suggestions.

When closing the skin edges during a tummy tuck, the upper skin edge has a tendency to move laterally. In order to get an anatomically, correct alignment of the skin edges. The upper edge often needs to be pulled towards the midline. Your dog year on your left side is most likely a misalignment of the skin edges and is best corrected by redoing that side of the procedure. To get the contour corrected may require extending the scar a little bit further onto your side. Your plastic surgeon should be able to differentiate if this is a skin or fat problem without difficulty.
Seeing a complete set of proper before and after pictures would be helpful. Also, seeing a sideways picture would help as well.
Follow up with your provider and have him/her schedule you for a revision if you both agree.
