Looking for the most effective scar therapy treatment to treat the scars from my mommy makeover. I am 8 weeks post op and have been using silicon strips for about 4 weeks now (once all the wounds closed) and using lotion and trying to massage the slightly raised areas of my scars. Is a liquid silicon as effective as the strips? Or are none of them worth the money?

Answer: Scar prevention Dear TM556,every plastic surgeon has his own postoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. I suggest my patient to start using Biocorneum gel after week 6. I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon.Daniel Barrett, MD Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
