Thank you for your question! For my patients, I recommend that they use a silicone based scar cream called Biocorneum. They are instructed to use it on all incisions for 6 months to 1 year post surgery. I recommend discussing specific postoperative instructions with you’re plastic surgeon. I hope this helps!

Every surgeon has their favorite scar cream. I will only use a scar cream that has shown improvement in scar appearance by clinical trials and data. I personally use biocorneum since it is approved by the FDA and has shown good clinical results.
