Hello, I'm having my BA next week and have chosen a 550cc saline implant, under the muscle with mod plus profile. My ultimate goal is to achieve the look of a full D-DD with "cleveage". Currently I am a 36 B...small B, but I am also 5'6 and weigh 155 lbs. Based off of this information is is possible that the size implant I am considering will achieve the results I desire or will additional cc'sbe required?
Answer: 36 B,155 lbs, and 5'6". Will 550 cc implants achieve the goal look of a full D-DD? Thank you for the question and pictures. Online consultants will not be able to provide you with specific enough advice to be truly helpful. Ultimately, careful communication of your goals (in my practice I prefer the use of goal pictures, direct examination/communication in front of a full-length mirror, and computer imaging) will be critical. Keep in mind, that breast augmentation surgery does not provide a true "lift"; make sure that your goals will be realistically achieved with the planned procedure. Best to discuss your goals, expectations, concerns, and questions directly with your plastic surgeon, preferably prior to the day of surgery. Generally speaking, the best online advice I can give to ladies who are considering breast augmentation surgery ( regarding breast implant size/profile selection) is: 1. Concentrate on choosing your plastic surgeon carefully. Concentrate on appropriate training, certification, and the ability of the plastic surgeon to achieve the results you are looking for. Ask to see lots of examples of his/her work. 2. Have a full discussion and communication regarding your desired goals with your plastic surgeon. This communication will be critical in determining breast implant size/type/profile will most likely help achieve your goals. In my practice, the use of photographs of “goal” pictures (and breasts that are too big or too small) is very helpful. For example, I have found that the use of words such as “natural” or "full D or DD cup” etc means different things to different people and therefore prove unhelpful. Also, as you know, cup size varies depending on him who makes the bra; therefore, discussing desired cup size may also be inaccurate. Again, the use of computer imaging has been very helpful during the communication process, in our practice. 3. Once you feel you have communicated your goals clearly, allow your plastic surgeon to use his/her years of experience/judgment to choose the breast implant size/profile that will best meet your goals. Again, in my practice, this decision is usually made during surgery, after the use of temporary intraoperative sizers. I hope this (and the attached link, dedicated to breast augmentation surgery concerns) helps. Best wishes for an outcome that you will be very pleased with.

Answer: Will 550cc's be enough? The implant you have chosen will certainly increase your size a great deal, and give you better balance and proportion. A surgeon can never guarantee a cup size as that can differ based on the bra manufacturer. There are many advantages to going behind the muscle, however, your nipple position is a little low. Although you will get some elevation of the nipple even going behind the muscle, the nipple will probably still appear a little low. In your wish picture, the implants are in front of the muscle, and are better able to fill out the breast skin envelope. Hope this helps, and good luck.

Answer: Will 550 cc give me the results? Hello shedevil2018. Results of breast surgery vary from patient to patient and there's no way to predict how much you will look like the photo you submitted or what size you're going to be after the surgery. Having said that, 550 cc will add a great deal of volume and shape to your breasts and should give you better cleavage barring any unforeseen complications. Best wishes, Dr. Aldo.

Answer: Choosing an implant size There is a lot to your question and likely more than can be addressed over the internet. 550 cc is a very large implant and there are few women who would not receive a dramatic increase in size and fullness as a result of putting that much volume in their breasts. The question that would be answered in person is what your exact goals are. If size is most important, that would guide the conversation. If shape and overall breast aesthetics are more important than size, that would guide the conversation in a different direction. In other words, your question has more to it than can be answered in this format. The most important thing, in my opinion, is an open, honest conversation and understanding between the patient and doctor about what the goals are and what is required to achieve them. Sometimes the goals are not attainable or would require something like a lift to get there. If I knew a patient of mine was uncomfortable about the size decision, I would absolutely want to be able to have another conversation with her before surgery. Give your surgeon a call and either talk with him/her, or speak with someone knowledgeable in the office who can help either make you feel more comfortable or get you in to figure out what you need before your surgery. Best,Dr. Pyle
