In a weeks time I will be having my dream surgery and was wondering how long until I can begin to surf again? Of course for short periods of time in the beginning but when is it safe to lie on my board and use my arms to paddle?
Answer: Resuming activities after breast augmentation Recovery to day-to-day activities after a breast augmentation is relatively quick. Within a couple of weeks you can do most things. Strenuous sports and occupations need a longer period of recovery. If your implants are placed under the muscle, then each time you contract the muscle you'll feel some discomfort for around 4-6 weeks. Surfing is one of these activities. So I'd say around 4 weeks, and it may be a little longer for you to fell super comfortable lying on your tummy and paddling.

Answer: Breast augmentation and surfing Hello Kari, Surfing is such an amazing sport! However, you do need to make sure everything is healed and you have your upper body strength back before going in the water. Typically, you can go back to surfing at 6-8 weeks. But get your surgeon's clearance first! Good luck with your surgery! Dr. Lee

Answer: Breast Augmentation Recovery Thank you for this question - it comes up in the office all the time. Planning your recovery is as important as planning your surgery. You only get one chance to heal up properly so make sure you follow your surgeon's postoperative recovery plan. For women who surf, play tennis, or lift weights, return to activity needs to be gradual since you can run into problems if you do too much too soon. For an active surfer, at least 4 weeks after surgery before returning to the water, lying on your board and paddling out. It might be closer to 6 or even 8 weeks before you feel really comfortable. Best wishes on a speedy recovery and great result.

Answer: Breast augmentation and surfing Always a good idea to check with your surgeon's protocol and I would start my patients with short periods at six weeks. Then I recommend a gradual increase in periods of activity over the next two weeks.Dr. Ted Eisenberg, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and Author

Answer: Breast You can start leg exercises after one month, then two weeks later start arm exercises and after more two weeks if you feel good you can start surfing. But you can start then gradually, I mean few minutes than increase time day after day in order to avoid pain and in case of surf for your safety in water.
