Answer: Opinions on procedures to improve my body You are doing the right thing by losing weight. It is always good to reach your ideal body weight before you plan any surgery. Tummytuck with or without liposuction with muscle repair can be a good initial surgery. that will get you fit to more exercise and improve your posture and confidence. Please consult a consultant plastic surgeon to discuss your options

Answer: Considering options If you have changed your eating habits but are not seeing results I encourage you to begin by visiting with your primary care physician. Perhaps you would see better results being guided by a dietician or meeting with a trainer. Your physician may be able to refer you for bariatric surgery if indicated. Once you have been able to reach your goal weight you can meet with a board certified plastic surgeon near you to discuss the procedures to help best address your concerns.

Answer: BMI is too high for surgery at this time At 5'7 and 260 lbs, your BMI is 40 which puts you at high risk for complications from surgery but would qualify you for bariatric surgery. I recommend you begin a low fat diet, core exercises such as sit-ups, planks, pilates and consult a bariatric surgeon. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Weight loss Dear Brittneykdelacruz, congrats on the weight loss! Generally speaking, you want to reach your goal weight before you consider a tummy tuck, otherwise your results will be suboptimal if you continue to lose weight after the surgery. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.
