These are photos of the lines in question which get more intense when I smile. They run in the family but aren’t as intense in anyone else as they are in me. What are they and what can be done about them?

Answer: Beloteral Balance & Teosyal Redensity II Work Well For Improving Tear Troughs They are indeed tear troughs, some of which, as in your case, run in families and can appear in youth. Fillers, such as Belotero Balance & Teosyal Redensity II, can work well for elevating and smoothing these tear trough valleys. This is not a region for injection by a novice injector accustomed to treating simple smile lines with ordinary Juvederm or plain Restylane. So, make sure that you consult with a board certified aesthetic physician and ask to see his/her personal before and after photos of filler tear trough treatments. Best of luck.

I would suggest meeting with your local dermatologist to discuss the use of fillers. Options include Restylane, Belotero and Juvederm, but more important than the brand of hyaluronic acid is the physician injecting, so make sure they are highly trained and experienced (e.g. dermatologist) for optimal results and safety. Generally in the tear trough, most patients get 1-2 years of improvement.
