Hi, I had my procedure done 2 months ago and I hate my nose. I know you have to wait a year to do anything but I was wondering what options I have once the time comes. My issue is that my tip is too point and scooped so It doesn’t look normal to my face. My columella is also more visible from the front and the sides, Especially when I smile,so you see more of my nostril and also making my nostrils looked hooked. I had asked my doctor not to touch my tip but he ignored me. He alsoreducedmyalar
Answer: What you should know about rhinoplasty recovery Thank you for your question and photos. I’m sorry that you’re unhappy with your initial rhinoplasty results, but after only two months, you’re likely still experiencing residual swelling that can impact your nose’s appearance. You’re correct that waiting at least one year is best before considering a revision since your nose can continue to change during this time. If you’re still unsatisfied with your results after the full recovery period, revision surgery can redefine the tip, correct the columella, and reduce the nostril show for a symmetrical, natural-looking result. It’s essential to mention that each subsequent nose surgery becomes more complex due to the loss of structural support, scar tissue, and other factors. The importance of experience, expertise, and artistry cannot be overstated. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon, with expertise in rhinoplasty techniques. They will be able to review your surgical history, oversee your recovery phase, and help you decide on the best course of action.

Answer: Rhinoplasty I would seek a second opinion from a well known rhinoplasty specialist plastic surgeon. It seems that your alar base resection may have not healed exactly as planned as there is notching and narrowing of the nostril opening. This may sometimes can also happen from not healing correctly or too much scar retraction.

Answer: Can I revert my new nose to my old nose? Hello @Audreena360, thank you for your question. Yes, you need to wait at least a year after your rhinoplasty procedure before considering a revision. This will allow ample time for the swelling and inflammation to subside and for you to assess how you feel about your refreshed look. Additionally, it is important to keep in mind that even if you choose revision surgery, there are no guarantees that the results will be better than before. In any event, once enough time has passed since your initial operation – likely just another 10 months from now – visiting an expert can offer further insight into valid ways of resolving this issue while providing much greater peace of mind regarding expected outcomes as they relate directly back to your original goals. Best wishes! Alan Gonzalez MD, FACS.
