res you could suggesI appreciate any feedback from the community. Main concern is dimpled skin due to blotched lipo above belly b. What is the best way for me to correct this. If I go for tummy tuck, will a float mini tt work to minimize scar. Or should I just do normal mini with the scar around belly b. Are there any other less invasive procedures you could suggest?
Answer: Full Abdominoplasty The word 'botched' is used too often and suggests that the surgery wasn't performed correctly, when in fact the outcome was due to other factors. In your case, you needed a tummy tuck as well and this is the predicted result of not getting one. The options you list other than a full tummy tuck all have problems. The floating belly button tuck is what I consider to one of the few procedures in plastic surgery that were dead on arrival, along with the 'crescent breast lift'. If you got one, your belly button will be in next to your pubis before your abdominal skin it tight. A 'mini tuck' will by nature not tighten the peri-umbilical and upper abdominal regions. Only a true full tummy tuck will do the job properly.

Answer: Tummy tuck I'm sorry to hear of the issues you have had since your liposuction. To best improve the contours of the abdomen you will want to consider a standard tummy tuck. The mini tuck would not be recommended in your case. See a board certified plastic surgeon near you to learn more.

Answer: Dimples after lipo Dear shant, I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice. Answer: Should I consider a mini tummy tuck for dimpled skin after liposuction? What is the best non-invasive option? Based on the 1 posed photo you need full 'skin only' TT with muscle plication. NOT a mini or bb floating TT....Best to virtual consult with .... Expect fee from $7,000+

Answer: Poorly done Liposuction Delivering consistent quality Liposuction results is more difficult than most people believe and this includes plastic surgeons. As substantial number of board-certified plastic surgeons even those with an overall good reputation do not do a very good job at this procedure. I found a substantial number of plastic surgeons who don’t like doing liposuction and one thing leads to the other and they never get good at it. Liposuction results are permanent and more or less irreversible. You do have skin laxity and you were may be a better candidate for a tummy tuck in the first place rather than Liposuction. A mini tummy drug only treats skin in between your bellybutton and your pubic area. floating belly buttons is not a good procedure and in your case your barely button will end up being excised or sitting right above your pubic area. The only options are a full tummy tuck or a reversed tummy tuck. Of those to a full tummy tuck is in my opinion the best and most appropriate procedure. Since the problem is on your upper abdomen you would need at least a full tummy tuck or a reverse tummy tuck. You should understand that poor outcomes from Liposuction is not the same as having skin laxity. It represents an uneven fat distribution that was created by surgeon but didn’t know how to do liposuction well. Successful operations should treat the primary problem. Your primary problem is an uneven fat distribution. There are no non-surgical treatments that will do anything to correct your surgically created uneven fat distribution. It may in fact not be possible to correct your outcome but some improvements can be had and considering that you were probably a good candidate for a tummy tuck probably much better than for Liposuction so a full tummy tuck may give some nice improvements but you may still have an uneven fat distribution. Treatments that I’ve been tried to correct where they done liposuction include revision liposuction(removing more fat) fat transfer(adding fat where needed) and thirdly like you mentioned converting the procedure to a skin tightening operation like a full tummy tuck. You may want to consider talking to the surgeon who did your procedure about getting a refund since the procedure didn’t quite deliver what probably either one of you had hoped for. Defined talented providers and have overall positive experiences when it comes to cosmetic surgery patients should be very selective in choosing only the most talented and experienced providers. I recommend patients do this by scheduling multiple in person consultations starting locally whenever possible. Avoid virtual consultations whenever possible. During each consultation ask each provider to open up their portfolio and show you their entire collection of before and after pictures. Being shown a handful of sample pictures which most likely represent the best results of the providers career is completely insufficient to get a clear understanding of what average results look like in the hands of each provider. an experience provider should have no difficulty showing you a minimum of 50 sets of before and after pictures of commonly performed procedures like a full tummy tuck or abdominal liposuction. ask the provider to show as many pictures as possible of patients who have similar body characteristics to you around them. You should also ask them to show you pictures of excellent outcomes, average outcomes and less than outcomes. Bring pictures of your round torso or whatever area you were having treated with you for a comparison to make sure you’re looking at other patients who had similar body characteristics. Ask the surgeon about the revision rates and what their policy is if someone needs revision surgery. you may want to ask them to show you images of patients who needed revisions and see what those look like. I also recommend reading all reviews on various physician review websites avoiding providers for any significant number of justified negative reviews. The absence of justified negative reviews is more important and more telling than having an abundance of positive reviews. I would also encourage you to write some reviews regarding your experience. Be honest and professional and share with others what this experience was like for you. I’m sure you would’ve appreciated others doing the same before you chose this provider. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
