This is a question that should bedirected at your surgeon, as different surgeons have differing opinions on thismatter. In my practice, I recommend my patients wait two weeks after surgery before startingto take NSAIDS. Best regards.
PS differ in their approach to using NSAIDS after surgery. NSAIDS help decrease inflammation but also interfere with your bodies normal ability to make a blood clot and stop bleeding. I personally do not recommend anything that may cause or contribute to excess bleeding for a minimum of 2 weeks after surgery or after your drains are removed. Each PS surgeon varies in their approach. It is best to have your PS guide you as they know what they did and what your bleeding risks are as well as have a preference. They will also be the ones taking care of you should you have a postsurgical bleeding complication.
In my practice you would be permitted to reason your medication immediately after and abdominoplasty. However this is instruction that you should get from your own surgeon.
You need to call your surgeon's office and ask them. Some surgeons prefer to avoid them. Personally, I give all of my patients NSAID's to take after surgery.
Thanks for your question. Every surgeon will have unique recommendations on NSAID use based on their experiences and preferences, plus your anatomy and the exact procedure that was performed. I personally will prescribe them occasionally after abdominoplasty surgery, but I prefer to to avoid them if possible.
Hello and thanks. Congratulations on your tummy tuck. Please ask your PS what his/her opinion is on NSAIDS after surgery. I would appreciate the call myself. Best, Dr. ALDO
Obviously, each plastic surgeon has his or her opinion as to when it is okay to take non-steroidals after an abdominoplasty. If you were my patient, I would recommend waiting 2 weeks, but of course, this question is best posed to your plastic surgeon.
I would direct that question to your plastic surgeon. The use of NSAID during the recovery phase can lead to bleeding and possibly a hematoma which may complicate your recovery.
Most Plastic Surgeons will recommend 2-4 weeks after surgery.Make sure to check with your surgeon first.
In my practice I recommend at least 2 to 3 weeks depending upon your healing phase following a Full TT...
Depending on how forceful the coughing was, it is possible to pop a suture. If you should have to cough it important to brace your stomach with a pillow or a blanket. If you did however pop a stitch there's nothing to worry about just follow up with your doctor as soon as possible.
Hello, some time ago I transitioned to using progressive tension sutures for most cases, with the goal of closing the abdominal wound space and not needing to insert drains. I have been extremely pleased with the results and rarely do the procedure the previous way. That stated, I...
I highly suggest meeting with your surgeon for an in-person examination. It is unlikely that your slip did any damage, however you should get checked out just to make sure. Best regards.
