The area of the thyroid is typically avoided during Ultherapy treatment. Regardless, I am not aware of any reports of effects of the thyroid from all the Ultherapy cases that have been done to date.
Hi Setareh. In the clinical studies done for Ultherapy during its FDA approval, there were no adverse effects on the thyroid gland. As a safety precaution we do not treat directly over the thyroid gland when we perform Ultherapy treatments. Hope this answers your question!
Anatomically, the thyroid gland usually is approximately1 cm deep, below the surface of the skin. Ultherapy focuses to a depth of .45 cm (4.5 mm). In a word, absolutely. Thermage does not predispose the skin for impaired healing and Ultherapy treats the skin at a deeper level than Thermage. I have provided these treatments with short intervals in between many times without any adverse events.
One Ultherapy may be equivalent or better than a series of non-invasive ThermiSmooth treatments for facial tightening and lifting. In my NYC practice I have seen better results with ThermiTight than ThermiSmooth and Ultherapy but ThermiTight is minimally invasive, and Ultherapy and ThermiSmooth...
