I need to have a partial hysterectomy due to a large (12x9x9) fibroid. I want to have a tummy tuck at the same time. I am sure this has been done before. I will be 50 years old. I want to do something for me. Thoughts?

Answer: Hysterectomy and Abdominoplasty Hello, thanks for your inquiry, and the answer is yes, multiple procedures can be performed in one stage surgery if your overall health allows it, which is the most important issue. Second, both surgeons need to work together comfortably and preferably have worked together before is a plus. Please make sure that you and your surgeons are on the same page. Don't forget to discuss all your concerns, options and expectations thoroughly. Have a safe and pleasant PS Journey!Respectfully,Dr. Jaime Campos-LeonBoard Certified Plastic Surgeon

Answer: Hysterectomy and Abdominoplasty Hysterectomy and Abdominoplasty at the same time is a common combination. It is great because there is one recovery and some hospital charges may get included under insurance (in and out of room time, overnight stay). There may be an increased risk of surgical problems and these should be discussed and trade offs accepted.
