Thank you for your question. Please follow the recovery instructions as provided by your board certified facial plastic surgeon. Treating the swelling will not jeopardize your results.Best wishes,
I suggest you see an expert, ice is not the best idea but can be used. Oral antiinflammatories are fine, but RF treatments work best. Dr. Emer.
This is a great question! I think that ice is your best friend when being treated with Kybella. It helps with swelling but also does a great job of controlling the aching that comes right after the injection. Ibuprofen can also help with the inflammatory response. Some plastic surgeons even encourage patients to take ibuprofen before the procedure. Overall, it should not have an appreciable effect on the results.Hope this helps!
Speak with your surgeon as we each have our own post op protocol. I recommend ice, elevating the head and sometimes, mild compression. Advil etc. fine. And no, treating the swelling will not adversely affect your results.
Thank you foryour question jackiep5225. Kybellais the first and thus-far only FDA-approved non-surgical injectable treatmentfor the double chin. The most frequent side effect is swelling which I have seen in 100% of cases. I recommend that my patients apply cold compresses such as ice packs and sleep on an extra pillow overnight to reduce swelling. Some doctors use straps that wrap from under the chin to the crown of the head; this works well too. Pleaseconsult with a doctor for specific recommendations. Good luck!
You can definitely use ice and ibuprofen to help with the swelling. This will not interfere with the effect of the medication on your chin. Remember that the swelling can last up to 4-6 weeks, at which time you may need a subsequent treatment. Best of luck!
No. You should not adversely affect your results with a steroid injection. Especially since it's been 5 days. Keep in mind that it is going to take awhile for your final results from either procedure so be patient. Sorry to hear that you got a rash but hope that the steroids took care of it.

Both products work well for various indications in this area. Kybella is very effective in dramatically defining the jaw by removing bulk in the submental (double chin area) as well as jowl areas. Botox works well in narrowing the jawline in patients with square jaws. I have also found Botox...
