In general, I have my patients refrain from using a retinol for at least a couple of following any laser treatment since your skin is going to be overly sensitive.
We usually tell people not to use retinols or retin-A for a few days after a laser treatment because your skin can be very sensitive. It's also not advised to use it for a few days before you do a laser treatment. You should follow up with your treating office for specifics on their pre and post care suggestions.
