Is Laser Genesis effective for acne scars?

Question

I have shallow acne scars. Would laser genesis be effective in removing the scars? I do not want to do resurfacing.

Thank you for your question. laser Genesis can help, but CO2 resurfacing or RF modalities are more effective than Genesis treatments.  Genesis is beter at maitenance than any heavy lifting. I hope this helps!

While laser genesis can certainly help with the appearance of mild acne scars, deeper scars will probably need to be treated with a combination of therapies. I would suggest that you schedule a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon or dermatologist to be assessed in person and discuss your best options.

No doubt, acne scars can vary in depth , color and also perception!  It would be best to receive a consultation before committing to any laser treatment for acne, scarring or pigmentation.We find it best to combine several procedures depending on the severity of the scars. These can include medical -grade products, micro-needling, IPL such as the Limelight laser to improve the discolorations, Laser Genesis for texture improvement and collagen remodeling and TCA peels or fractional lasers ( Pearl).The Laser Genesis is a good place to start, as it is safe for all skin types and will not cause a rebound hyperpigmentation ( more discolorations).

Laser Genesis is designed for facial rejuvenation and
stimulating collagen production. It can help with some very mild acne scarring;
however severe acne scarring will require different forms of treatment. It is best to seek a consultation with an

Laser genesis is a subtle collagen boosting treatment which is the byproduct of the heat generated as a result of the light being absorbed by tinny blood vessels in the superficial skin.  Do not expect dramatic results with this treatment on acne scaring, unless your scaring is limited to atrophic, rolling scars.  It is a nice treatment for skin toning and improving superficial texture and fine wrinkles.  If you are looking for non ablative treatments consider Ultherapy 1.3 mm transducer, or bipolar radiofrequency.  Microneedling is another option, but again in our experience is less effective than other treatments like Fraxel-Restore.  It has a some downtime, but I think in the long-term it works better. Yes, but you need to remember that it will be minimal. Laser Genesis works primarily on redness and texture. But it doesn't penetrate very deeply into the skin so it really won't smooth it out entirely. It will help and it will look better (after a number of treatments) but the results will never be as significant as a resurfacing laser like InMode Fractora.
