I thought cutera laser genesis was supposed to be without damage or downtime. I am horrified with the purple marks left on my cheeks and nose. My doctor said it is due to the iron leaking from the larger telangiectasias that were pulsed by the laser. I am also experiencing a mild fever and extreme fatigue. Please tell me what you know about this as my cosmetic doctor will not admit what is going on, but says they will be dissolved in a few days.

Answer: Small blood bursts after "Laser Genesis" Let me backtrack a bit here. You had treatment with the YAG portion of the Cutera, which means the treatment head itself, which is a YAG laser, was up against the skin. This targets the vein much harder, causing it to burst and drain and be absorbed. Laser Genesis is the same energy but it is displaced on the skin differently and merely swiped over the skin and across it. Nothing touches the skin. So you didn't have "Laser Genesis" which yes, does not have downtime. You had YAG laser, which does have downtime. Laser Genesis helps very superficial red veins but not telangiectasias like you had. Those have to be targeted much harder and deeper with a laser right on there. They will go down, they will be absorbed by the body soon. But I'm sorry that what was done was not explained better to you.... "This answer has been solicited without seeing this patient and cannot be held as true medical advice, but only opinion.
