Is it possible to remove dorsal hump only or would the tip also be required? (photos)

In my opinion, it would be possible to remove the dorsal hump of your nose without doing anything to the tip. I would just discuss your goals with your surgeon.

You can certainly have the hump removed only and leave the tip alone. Closed rhinoplasty is best on this situation because it avoid the tip altogether.

The tip is good but the nostrils have a bit of a flare. The hump can be removed without effecting the tip. Alarplasty will add a nice softening effect to the nose.

Can you remove a dorsal hump but leave the tip alone? it is theoretically possible to reduce a dorsal hump and leave the tip alone. Usually the tip is refined to match the reduce the size of the new nose once the dorsal profile is reduced but there may be some cases where the tip is fine enough that it matches the reduced dorsal portion of the nose. Sometimes in the course of a rhinoplasty I find that a tip which really looked fine on the larger nose now does not fit the smaller upper portion of the nose Ian’s has to be reduced to conform. So in some cases if you want the tip to look the same as it looks on the larger nose it needs to be slightly smaller on the smaller nose to look the same.
