Can secondhand smoke impact my BBL results?

Question

I just got my BBL done and I’m 2 weeks post-op. My doctor told me that if I smoke cigarettes or am around smoke it’ll effect my results as in the fat cells would be killed. I live in an apartment and my neighbors keep smoking cigarettes so I have to walk by them for a quick minute. I cover my nose and mouth and try not to inhale it. Do you think it’ll affect my results?

Hello, The exposure you are describing will not likely effect you, as it is brief and only in passing. The reason many surgeons suggest that patients should not smoke or be exposed to prolonged second hand smoke is because it effects circulation. Brief exposure like walking by someone is not going to affect your BBL results; the most important factors to your success are technique of fat harvest, processing, and grafting.
