I generally like the structure of my jaw, but I just feel that it's curved without the nice sharp angles. I'm not really too excited about jaw implants (unless they are small enough to not be an issue) nor do I want to run back for fillers. Is it possible to use my own fat for fat transfer and get a permanent square jaw look?
Answer: Fat transfer to achieve square jaw Given that you do not want fillers or jaw implants, fat transfer is the only option. Facial fat grafting tends to have a higher percentage of the fat survive than does grafting in other areas of the body. Any facial fat that remains after 3 months or so has an established blood supply and will continue to live. Some of the fat grafted will be lost, but about 70 to 90% of the fat grafted to the face should live. In other areas of the body, about 50 to 75% of the fat injected survives after fat grafting. To determine if fat grafting would allow you to achieve a square jaw look would require an in-office consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon who performs hundreds of lipo/fat grafts annually. View before/after photos on surgeons' websites to form an opinion of the surgeon who could provide the look you are seeking.Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA

Answer: Improving the jawline with fat transfer--water-assisted, prp, sculptra Yes, fat can be used to contour the jawline. Harvesting is important to fat transfer. I recommend water-assisted fat harvesting which gives pure fat to transfer and combine with platelet rich plasma (PRP) to get the most viable and sustainable fat cells. I combine with Sculptra to improve final results. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: First of all you need to lose some weight to really figure out the contour of the jaw line. First of all you need to lose some weight to really figure out the contour of the jaw line. And ten seek methods to augment the lower jaw. Fat transfer cannot obtain the results you desire because they are soft and cannot create an acute angle.

Answer: Fat Transfer for a Square Jaw To achieve a square and sharp jawline, the best option would be a jawline implant. The sharpness that you want to achieve would be difficult with fat transfer. Fat transfer to the jawline is possible but is a soft tissue and will be soft when layered into the area. The best option is the implant structured for the angle of the jawline. Good luck
