Massage after fat transfer?

I had fat transfer 10 days ago and I remember doctor said not to massage the face as it might cause fat to absorb more but there's an awful lot of swelling in the jowl area and I wonder if it is okay to massage just the jowls?

It would be fine to massage in the jowl area since you do not necessarily want more volume in this area.  By three weeks time you should be close to seeing the final results once swelling has dissipated.

I suggest waiting 6-12 weeks before massaging after fat transfer. Swelling can last 3-6 months after fat transfer. Prednisone, icing, ibuprofen and venus legacy treatments can give improvement. I recommend prp and sculptra after your procedure to improve final results. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

I don’t think it is a good idea to massage areas that have undergone fat transfer. If the jowls where not part of the surgery then it would be okay. By the way massage would not relieve swelling resulting from grafted fat dramatically. Please do as your doctor recommended.
