Is it safe to shampoo hair twice a day 3 months after hair transplant?

Washing your hair after a hair transplantation is an important step for restoration.  We usually have our patients start spraying hair with lactated ringers with liposomal ATP as well as other growth factors twice a day to help your hair process start ASAP.  Actual hair washing usually takes place several days after the procedure.  There are several advantages to this approach:

It is normal to wash you hair after surgery.  If you had your surgery 3 months ago there should be no issues with washing your hair.

Thank you for your question.  Yes, after this time period, you can return back to your normal hair regime.  I am sure your hair dresser would not recommend washing your hair twice a day however, as you are getting rid of all the oils.  All The Best 

On the fifth day after a hair transplant you can return to your regular hair washing schedule. 

Grafts are set by 10 days and therefore you can resume your regular hair washing regimen at that time. Unless you are very sweaty or workout a lot, twice a day shampooing is probably not necessary but it won't hurt your transplanted hair. It's important to keep your scalp clean and healthy but you don't want to dry out your scalp or hair. You can ask your surgeon or  hair dresser if they think your hair is overly dry with this frequency of washing.

We recommend waiting for 2-3 weeks before using shampoo on such a daily basis. But yes after this time period you may shampoo as much as you like without affecting your transplanted hairs. It is worth noting that allowing your natural oils on your scalp to accumulate is also great help for your scalp's health. Therefore using shampoo twice daily is rather unnecessary.

At 3 months after a hair transplant you can return to whatever shampoo rooutine that makes you comfortable

After two weeks its perfectly safe to use whatever shampoo/conditioner you want as often as you want. Twice daily is probably overkill in terms of shampooing but it won't affect your transplanted hairs any differently than how it affects your regular hair. Your doctor should have gone over when it's safe to resume normal activities following your transplant. Good luck!
