How do I keep my implants from dropping?

Hello!  Thank you for your question!  Nothing can stop the aging process or gravity.  Other factors that contribute to drooping include weight gain/loss, pregnancy, breastfeeding, etc.  One thing that you could consider is wearing a good supportive bra.  Hope that this helps!  Best wishes!

The answer is there's not much you can do to support the implant beyond what the healing process by way of generating a capsule does. Wearing a broad particularly during athletic activity is a good idea.

I love this question because of the diversity of the answers from all over the world. It is exactly representative of one of the most important factors to remember with sites like this.That is, none of us have any scientific evidence worth any value to share with you on how to keep your implants up but we all know that they will settle in time.  As the swelling from your surgery subsides, you may find that your implants in a lower position fills out the skin of your breast.  If you were borderline for a lift before, very high siting implants won't look right as the swelling subsides.   Meaning that the settling you are opposed to know is likely to going to mean a better result long term.Congrats on your happy results.Best,Dr. Pyle

following augmentation, you should start wearing supportive bras in functional ways... that is all you can do on your part.  And good luck with keeping them up!

Thank you for your question.  Unfortunately, there is not much you can do about your breasts dropping in the future.  Some contributing factors could be the size of the implant, the skin losing its elasticity, and the body going up or down in weight. Best to run this question by your plastic surgeon who knows your situation best. He/she may make recommendations such as use of a supportive bra and may also have recommendations in regards to avoidance of certain pectoralis major related exercises. Over time breast implants normally drop and less a capsular contraction occurs.  However many patients they drop to a normal attractive position and stay there.Avoiding extreme and heavy rest implant displacement exercises that push your breast implants downward may be of help if your implants have all removed into the ideal position.  Whether or not a supportive bra will help his honestly unknown.

As stated by others, gravity never sleeps. I recommend wearing good support bras especially when working out.  Also, do not lay on your tummy for several months as this can compress the implants downward.  Avoid isolating your pectoralis muscles during workouts as the muscle compression can force the implants down and out.  Good luck.
