Good afternoon and thank you for your question! Intense pulsed light (IPL) is generally not recommended for Fitzpatrick skin types V-VI. Most of the time IPL is only done on lighter skin types (fitzpatrick I-III, sometimes IV). IPL is targeting hyperpigmentation and red vessels and usually needs a good amount of contrast between the skin color and the pigmentation/red vessels to be effective. I would recommend using Silagen for any scarring/burns that you might have and to follow up with a board-certified plastic surgeon or dermatologist. Best of luck!
