I had V beam laser on my face yesterday. Ever since, I’ve had these areas of raised skin on my cheeks. Is this normal? (photo)

I have all around redness with a few broken capillaries. So I decided to do vbeam at suggestion of doctor. I do have restalyne under my eyes. When finished, I noticed these raised areas. Could that cause this? Is this just swelling? Any advice would be appreciated!

Appears to be slight swelling after the laser. This can occur to the upper cheek, as the skin is very thin. You can do cold compresses to help with the swelling. Also elevating your head and sleeping on your back can help.

Vbeam laser is an excellent modality for patients who have rosacea, blushing of the skin, facial and body telangiectasia, spider veins, redness, post surgical redness, and skin flushing. It is a safe procedure that can be used at varying depths to help treat micro blood vessels in the skin. We also use it in our office for facial skin inflammation, keloids, and hypertrophic scarring. It is an important part of scar therapy. Vbeam can be combined with chemical peels and other lasers, but experience with the treatment is essential. The Vbeam laser does not affect deeper tissue. Schedule a consultation with an expert in Vbeam and you will find it to be an excellent modality for many skin types.

Based on your photos, it appears you have some post-treatment swelling, which is fairly common after a Vbeam procedure. You can reduce the swelling and discomfort using cold compresses on the area. Rest assured, the raised areas are likely to go down on their own in the next few days.

Some swelling can be typical after laser treatments. Keep in mind, laser results can take several weeks to settle. PDT therapy can help reduce inflammation. Redness can be improved with a combination of lasers (ProYellow, Excel V, VBeam) and microneedling/prp.
