My face improved a lot in the first week after V beam but then went back to looking crappy on day 8. Is this common? (photos)

Treatment was for facial redness Is this possibly part of the healing process, as my doctor said it can take 6 weeks to achieve full results (and then more treatments may be needed depending on results)? I avoided any harsh skin products, strenuous exercise, and alcohol for the past 2 weeks. I've only just started to spot treat minor acne lesions with benzoyl peroxide. The only extended time in the sun I got was about 30 minutes of golf 1 week after treatment and I was wearing SPF 50
