Had revision closed 4 wks ago after open primary. My columella was hanging but now is FLAT, rock hard, painful and just ugly and messy looking. My front teeth hurt and I can’t rub my lips together due to tightness. Dr says it won’t move or loosen with time. Also says adding a graft to augment the columella could raise the tip even higher. Is this likely? I wanted a long elegant nose, just straightened and not hanging. I did not want a flat, wide and short nose. Suggestions?

A columellar strut that's too long can be removed or (better yet) shortened. In most cases, this can be done in the office under local anesthesia (injections of numbing medication) through a tiny incision and with minimal downtime. All the best,--DCPPearson Facial Plastic Surgery®
